Bowmont wool is one of the finest type of wools produced by Bowmont sheep. Bowmont sheep is a rare variety of Merino sheep. The breed was first developed by the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute in Scotland. Pure bred Bowmonts sheep are capable of producing wool in the range of 15 to 20 microns. The quality of this wool is as fine as cashmere. The wool coarsens with increase in age of the sheep. This sheep wool has become extremely popular among hand spinners and commercial processors due to its exceptionally fine quality and high strength. This wool is used to make extremely soft, breathable, cozy and warm garments. These garments are especially suitable sport-persons including skiers, surfers, cyclists and triathletes. http://amplify.com/u/a18w9x
