Zardozi is an old Persian form of art (Dozi in Persian means embroidery and Zar means gold). Zardozi embroidery is exquisite metal embroidery, which is used to embellish royal attires, wall hangings, scabbards, paraphernalia of royal horses and elephants. This type of embroidery involves creating beautiful designs, using precious stones, studded pearls, sliver and gold threads. The tools used in this type embroidery are needles, curved hooks, gold wires, metal stars, glass and plastic beads, thread and round-sequins.
